Special Olympics Soccer (5v5 and 7v7)

Please consider volunteering to officiate at one (or both) of the events below. This is a great way to support Special Olympics and "give back" to the communities we serve.​

There are three opportunities to volunteer

Special Olympics Pennsylvania is looking for referees for their Greater Lehigh Valley Pocono Region | Soccer Regional, held at the St. Luke's Sports Center | 3323 7th St, Hokendauqua, PA 18052 on Saturday, September 12th from 8:30 am (games start at 9 am) to 3:00 pm. If you can commit to volunteering that day, please respond to  Jason Merola (jmerola@specialolympicspa.org) and confirm whether you can do the full day or if you can only do part of the day (please be specific about your end time if you can’t do the full day).

 

Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) has begun planning for our Eastern Fall Sectional competition at DeSales University and our Fall Festival (Fall sports State Championship) at Villanova University and are looking for Officials in the sports of flag football, soccer, and volleyball. Below you will find the dates for two events that you have supported in the past. We are looking for PIAA or other certified officials. Our goal is to provide the highest level of competition for our athletes who have trained for months to get to this point. Having certified officials makes a huge difference in the success of our events. Since we are a nonprofit, we are looking for people that are willing to donate their time to our athletes and organization - what we can offer is a FREE t-shirt, lunch, and the excitement of watching our athletes compete.

Special Olympics Eastern Fall Sectional: Sunday, October 4th at DeSales University, Center Valley, PA

  • This is a qualifying sectional event for the East for our athletes to earn a trip to go to states

  • Competition will be offered in flag football, soccer (5v5 & 7v7), and volleyball

  • Volunteer Today

 

Special Olympics Fall Festival: Friday, November 13th – Sunday, November 15th at Villanova University, Radnor, PA

  • This is the fall sports state level event

  • Competition will be offered in flag football, soccer (5v5 & 7v7), and volleyball

  • Volunteer shifts are available for morning, afternoon, or all day
